The Daddy Story.

Holla' to all my friends, let me share with you a lil' story.
The man of this tale, is none other than the man of my family,
My daddy.
Now, daddy works as a driver,
The sole bread-winner among me, mum and my brother.
But no, Im not ashamed, even if his job carries no status or fame.
For he brings home the bucks legal and proper.

BUT.

In the days of late,
Daddy brings home lesser bucks for us to fill our dinner plates.
Blame it on the increase in prices of fuel,
Or on the world for being so cruel.
Tho' the new meter fare is jumpin' really fast,
It created even more problems then the last.

NOW.

Look around you mates, look around,
Everywhere, long queues of cabs are found.
Now look carefully mates, look through the glass,
There, is my daddy waiting in line, trying his luck.
He's out there working so hard,
So that me and lil' brother can pull through our class.

WHY?

My daddy did no wrong, he meant no harm.
He's just supporting the family, doing his part to be there.
This isn't right, it just isn't fair.
The drivers are the ones out there slogging and suffering,
While the companies are pocketing the millions that they are receiving.
All they hoped is for the rent to be lower,
Or the meter to go a lil' slower.

IF.

One day I were to leave,
Be it dance, school or the Sunny Sing.
Please remember my friends;
"Thanks for all the love, care and concern,
Even tho' majority of our fun aint decent.
I've had my share of fun and joy,
Thanks to all of you, my friends.
With much love, from Joann."
This is a story about my family,
Especially my daddy,
Please spend sometime and read between the lines.
Many things just aint about what the physical defines...
